Selection Process

The Indian Navy Agniveer SSR selection process is conducted in two stages. Candidates must clear both Stage I and Stage II to be finally selected.

Stage I: INET (Computer Based Test)

  • Mode: Online Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • Subjects: English, Science, Mathematics, General Awareness
  • Level: 10+2 standard
  • Duration: 1 hour
  • Purpose: Shortlisting candidates for Stage II

Stage II: PFT, Written Exam & Medical Test

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) (Qualifying in nature)

  • 1.6 Km Run: 6 min 30 sec (Male) | 8 min (Female)
  • Squats: 20 (Male) | 15 (Female)
  • Push-ups / Bent Knee Sit-ups: 12 push-ups (Male) | 10 sit-ups (Female)

Written Examination

  • Objective type (Hindi & English)
  • Subjects: Science, Maths, English, General Awareness
  • Level: 10+2 standard

Medical Examination

  • Complete health check as per Indian Navy medical standards

Final Selection

The final merit list is prepared based on performance in the CBT and PFT. Candidates who clear all stages and meet medical standards are selected as Indian Navy Agniveer SSR

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must meet any one of the following eligibility conditions:

  1. 10+2 Qualification

Passed Class 12 with Mathematics and Physics from a recognized board, securing at least 50% aggregate marks.

OR

  1. Engineering Diploma

Passed a 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Automobile, Computer Science, IT, or Instrumentation) from a recognized Polytechnic institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks.

OR

  1. Vocational Course

Passed a 2-year Vocational Course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects from a recognized education board, with at least 50% aggregate marks.

Important Note for Appearing Candidates

Students who have appeared in the Class 12 board exam and are awaiting results can apply. However, final selection will be subject to producing the original marksheet at Stage II and meeting the required minimum marks. Online or internet copies of marksheets will not be accepted.

Eye Surgery (PRK/LASIK/SMILE)

Allowed only if surgery was done after 20 years of age, is uncomplicated, and completed at least 12 months before medical examination, along with meeting prescribed medical limits.
Note: Such surgeries are not permitted for special branches like Submarine, Diving, and MARCOS.
