The AFCAT 2026 is India's national-level online exam for IAF officer recruitment (Flying, Ground Duty Tech/Non-Tech), featuring 100 questions, 300 marks, 3+1 marking, a 2-hour limit, and sections like General Awareness, English, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning/Military Aptitude, with technical roles needing an EKT, leading to AFSB interviews and medicals for selection.

Flying Branches	Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with minimum 3 years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (4 years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR Candidates who have cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical)	Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)}:-Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of 4 years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/ Technology from recognized University OR Cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)}:-Candidates with a minimum of 50% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of 4 years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognized University OR Cleared Sections A&B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
Ground Duty (Non- Technical)	Weapon Systems (WS) Branch:- Candidates should have mandatorily passed with a minimum of 50% marks each in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and Graduation with minimum 3 years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent. OR BE/B Tech degree (4 years course) from a recognized University Administration& Logistics:- Passed 10+2 and Graduate Degree (Minimum 3 years degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR Cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university. Accounts Branch:- Passed 10+2 and done graduation in any of the following streams with 60 % marks or equivalent from a recognized university B. Com Degree (Min 3 years course). Bachelor of Business Administration (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Management Studies (with specialization in Finance)/ Bachelor of Business Studies (with specialization in Finance) Qualified CA/ CMA/ CS/ CFA. B.Sc. with specialization in Finance. Education:- Passed 10+2 and Post-Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline including integrated courses offering PG (Single degree without permission to exit and lateral entry) and with 60% marks in Graduation. Meteorology:- Passed 10+2 and B Sc with Physics and Mathematics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent OR 4 year Graduation in Engineering/Technology discipline with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

Age Limit-

Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2027 i.e. born between 02 January 2003 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years i.e. born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive).
Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2027 i.e. born between 02 January 2001 to 01 January 2007 (both dates inclusive).

Subject and Duration

The subjects, time allowed and maximum marks allotted for AFCAT exam will be as follows

The Online examination will consist of objective type questions and will be in English only.

Marking Scheme is as follows

Three marks will be awarded for every correct answer.
One mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.
No marks for un-attempted questions.

On the homepage of the official website (https://afcat.cdac.in) find ‘Admit Card’ and click on it.
Using the username and password of the log into the site.
Admit Card will be displayed on the site.
Your exam date and exam city will appear.
Click on the download admit card.

Click on Apply Link given on the official page of the website of the AFCAT. The registration e-link will open up in the new window.
Click on New Registration in application window and then click on the register button.
